Ravens team with MedStar to help concussion awareness
The Baltimore Ravens have pledged $125,000 in a five-year grant to MedStar, a not-for-profit health-care organization, aimed to help increase awareness about concussions for student-athletes. MedStar officials told the Baltimore Sun they want to change the sports culture that makes athletes want to play through head injuries.
The Ravens, MedStar and the Center for Disease Control and Prevention will work together to lobby for Maryland concussion legislation. And, as part of the program, the Ravens and MedStar have joined forces to produce a public service announcement, which debuted Tuesday:
